About Me

Md. Atik Yeasir Alam
Bridging Architecture and Environment for a Sustainable Future
I am Md. Atik Yeasir Alam, an architect with a passion for sustainable design and a commitment to environmental stewardship. Having graduated from the esteemed Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology (AUST) in Fall 2019, with a degree in Architecture, I embarked on a journey that has seen me evolve from a fresh graduate to a seasoned professional with a wealth of experience in the field. This article aims to shed light on my academic and professional journey, showcasing how I've seamlessly integrated architecture and environmental management for the betterment of our built environment.
Academic Pursuits:
In Spring 2017, I undertook a transformative thesis project titled “Sanmar Housing – A Sustainable Housing Development for Higher Income Groups". This project not only marked a significant milestone in my academic journey but also ignited a passion for sustainable design solutions tailored to meet the needs of diverse socioeconomic groups. It was during this project that I realized the immense potential for architects to influence positive change through sustainable design practices.
Professional Odyssey:
Over the past six years, I have had the privilege of contributing my expertise to three distinguished architectural consultancy firms and a prominent real estate development company. This diverse professional background has exposed me to a wide array of projects, ranging from residential complexes to commercial spaces. Through these experiences, I have honed my skills in conceptualizing and executing designs that seamlessly blend aesthetic appeal with functional efficiency.
Looking Forward:
As I look to the future, my vision is to further bridge the gap between architecture and environment, creating spaces that not only serve human needs but also nurture ecological balance. I am deeply interested in exploring how green technologies, climate-responsive design, and sustainable materials can be integrated into mainstream architectural practice in Bangladesh and beyond. My goal is to collaborate with like-minded professionals, researchers, and organizations to redefine the way we think about buildings—not merely as structures, but as living systems that respond to and respect their environments. Through continued learning and innovative practice, I aspire to contribute to a future where sustainability is not an afterthought, but the foundation of every design decision.
